Is your brake caliper stuck and causing your brake pads to wear quickly?

Common symptoms: vehicle’s steering pulling to one side, vibration in brake pedal, pressing the brake pedal more than usual to stop the car, burning smell from using the brakes.

They do not need replacing very often, but usually due to external elements, the pistons can seize causing your pads to lock on to the brake discs causing extraordinary brake pad wear and discs from overheating, which is a major safety hazard. Other common problems include the piston seals (internal and external) wearing out over time causing brake fluid to leak through them, contaminated brake fluid (e.g. with water) causing the internal mechanism to rust and seize, and handbrake lever at the back of the brake caliper (if it has one) to become stuck causing the handbrake not to release properly.

Whatever the reason for changing a brake caliper, they are critical components of a vehicle and it is therefore important that you do not fit any aftermarket calipers. Advantage calipers are properly quality tested to European BER Regulation (EC) 461/2010 standards, including low and high hydraulic pressure tested, and that the servo motors for electric calipers are in full working order and efficiency tested. Although not strictly necessary, we suggest changing both the left and right sides for better brake performance and even brake pad wear.

All brake calipers are designed to perform the same function but they are not all identical, and one vehicle model can have up to four different brake calipers, so please contact us to confirm compatibility if multiple caliper appear in your vehicle registration search results.
